Dr. Childress is in private practice in Las Vegas, Nevada. About 80% of her practice is research based. She also has adjunct faculty appointments at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Medicine, and Touro University Nevada, Dr. Childress is board certified in psychiatry, with a subspecialty in child and adolescent psychiatry.
Before earning her medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina, Dr. Childress studied at St. Louis University School of Medicine. She completed a psychiatry internship, residency in psychiatry and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.
Dr. Childress has authored numerous publications on the topic of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). As Co-Principal Investigator, she has participated in more than 160 clinical trials. Her research has focused on treatment of children, adolescents, and adults with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and ADHD.
Dr. Childress is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, and a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She is also Education Director the Nevada Psychiatric Association and President-elect of the American Professional Society of ADHD and Related Disorders.
